Historic Danish village rich with cultural heritage

Solvang, also known as California’s Little Denmark, is nestled in Santa Barbara County’s Wine Country. The historic Danish village boasts old-world European architecture, charming boutiques, and world-famous bakeries. Shop for authentic gifts from wooden shoes to cuckoo clocks, taste traditional Danish pastries, and visit the many wine tasting rooms scattered across the village. The town’s signature event, Solvang Danish Days, is held every September, and features a parade, Viking reenactments, eating contests, and storytelling.

How to Get There: The Amtrak Thruway bus provides a guaranteed connection between the Santa Barbara Station and Solvang. It takes approximately one hour to travel between the train station and downtown Solvang, and there are three trips in each direction every day.
